Email Sequences Feature

Email Sequences make sending sequential emails easier as an alternative to building workflows for this use case.

Email Sequences at a glance

Email Sequences let you send a series of emails in order without building a workflow, so you can set up old-school sequences quickly.

Email Sequences provide a focused way to send sequential emails to a defined audience, with scheduling, reply-based stopping, delivery/open conditions, and full sequence stats, without using workflows.

You access Email Sequences under Emails, where you create and manage your sequences alongside your other email tools.

Create an Email Sequence

Use these steps to set up a new sequence, define the audience, and control when emails go out.

Open Email Sequences

Go to Emails in your account, then choose the option to create an email sequence. This is where you see and manage all of your sequences.

Define who will receive the sequence

Choose the audience for the sequence from the available options:

  • List of contacts
  • Smart list
  • Segments
  • Build a segment

This defines which contacts enter and move through your sequence.

Choose when to send the sequence

Decide how to start sending your sequence:

  • Send immediately
  • Schedule for later

Use scheduling if you want the first email to go out at a specific time instead of right away.

Set up sender details and reply behavior

Configure the sender name and sender email that appear on the sequence emails. Turn on the option to stop the sequence when a contact replies if you want replies to remove contacts from the remaining steps.

Build the sequence emails

Add emails to your sequence using any of these starting points:

  • Blank email
  • Template
  • In-house templates

This lets you mix new content with existing templates as you build out the full sequence.

Configure conditional sending and delays

Control how each next email in the sequence is queued:

  • Queue the next email when the previous email is delivered
  • Queue the next email when the contact opens the previous email

Add delays between emails so contacts have time to receive or open one step before moving to the next.

Review tracking and stats

Enable and rely on tracking for:

  • Clicks
  • UTM parameters

Sequence-level stats are available, so you can monitor how the entire flow is performing over time.

Sending controls and behavior

Once you configure your sequence, sending behavior follows the conditions and timing you set.

  • Send timing: Start immediately or at a scheduled time.
  • Progression rules: Move contacts to the next email based on delivery or opens.
  • Stop on reply: Use the stop-on-reply option when you want human replies to end the sequence for that contact.

These controls give you a straightforward way to run sequential campaigns without building workflow logic.

Tracking and performance

Email Sequences support tracking for clicks and UTM parameters across the emails in a sequence. Sequence stats work the same way you expect from other email stats, so you can see how your flow performs and adjust content, timing, or conditions as needed.

Availability and beta access

Email Sequences are “theoretically” in private beta. To opt in, leave a comment on the original announcement post. The feature is expected to be live to everyone soon.
